After working many years in the IT sector, Arnaud Proust decided to immigrate to Canada and to found Percy Miller. The company, situated in Montreal, has developed rapidly and offers its services in 15 countries.
Why presenting a media-effective statement today ?
After twelve years in business, our growth continues. In 2007 we set up our first business in Europe, in the Benelux countries. For five years now, we have launched our activity on the German and British market. Due to the success, we continue to conquer Europe. We have started in 2015 and now, we are present in nearly 15 countries. We have more than 600 partners. On the market, we are perceived as a role-model. However, for us, it is important to communicate and to share our knowledge. This is why we try to work as transparently as we can.
Which are the most important trends on the IT market for 2016/2017 ?
Thanks to our activity and our methods used, we act as interlocutor for many different companies’ departments: general board, financial or IT department as well as the accounting or customer department etc. Taking our observations and conversations into account, the cloud and dematerialisation are two big trends. Both of them are already topics discussed and solutions implemented in many companies. Benefits and functions have convinced many managers in favour of the use of these software solutions. The cloud benefitted from stable connexions and a rise in sales. Another main tendency is Big Data. The awareness and attention paid to this topic is enormous. More and more companies use solutions for dealing with Big Data. Especially, SMEs are concerned and they try to face this challenge.
Why the choice of IT equipment represents a challenge ?
Regarding IT equipment, you have to differentiate between the purchase of services or of software. The IT world offers solutions for every project (accounting, dematerialisation, invoices etc.). The choice, however, is much more complex because you buy services or applications and not hardware. In fact, IT investments are considered to be middle or long term investments. In contrast, the choice for hardware is limited to a certain period. Everybody knows that you have to change it one day or another. Regarding an IT software solution, its implementation, the training of employees etc. is more complex and takes a lot of time. Every single change would impact your business activity. For choosing an appropriate software product, projecting oneself and taking time to evaluate are necessary.
